Elliot’s story

At just 3 months old, Elliott was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer called Choroid Plexus Carcinoma. With this diagnosis came a childhood full of hardships and setbacks. By the time he finished treatment and had gained somewhat of a normal life, at 4 years old he was diagnosed with a secondary cancer called Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Elliott's dream at 4 years old was to visit the brand new Peppa Pig Theme Park in Orlando, Florida. Not knowing how much time he would have, we decided it was time to make the trip to see Peppa. DCT sent him and his family to Orlando for 7 days and he made the most out of it. He went to Peppa Pig Theme Park first and rode Daddy Pig's Roller Coaster, splashed in muddy puddles, and rode Miss Rabbit's Hot Air Balloon Ride. He had an absolute blast! It was everything he had hoped for and more.

Elliott also spent 3 days at Walt Disney World and visited both Universal Studios parks. Despite being only 38 inches, he loved the high thrill rides and especially loved the rides where you get "soaked"! His favorite rides were E.T. at Universal Studios, Pirates of the Caribbean at Magic Kingdom, and River Rapids at Animal Kingdom. Also, just before his return home, Elliott was able to meet the pilot on his return flight! He was even able to sit in the cockpit and learn how to fly the airplane! Elliott lived it up during his wish trip! He stayed at Give Kids The World Village where he enjoyed evenings at the pool, ice cream for breakfast, putt putt, train rides, carousel rides, and so much more.

Elliott's trip was a magical escape from reality. He flew back into New Orleans, and after landing, headed straight to the hospital where the next morning he continued treatment to try to get him in remission.
